The Homebase HelpDesk is intended to provide general support for individuals wanting to use the HL7 Project Homebase, also known as the Homebase. It is your primary point of contact for any technical questions related to the use of the Homebase. The Homebase runs on computer resources owned by the UNLV (University of Nevada Las Vegas) and is operated by the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment (NSCEE). The Homebase site is intended to:
Increase general awareness of HL7 current tooling capabilities and plans.
Support HL7 Tool Developers (Toolsmiths) in managing their tooling projects.
Assist in involving more developers in the tooling effort.
Support Work Groups in managing their standards development or other projects.
Increase self-discoverable understanding and submission of tooling requirements.
Support HL7 tool users in reporting issues with tools and tracking their resolution.
The URL of the Homebase is: http://hl7projects.hl7.nscee.edu/.
Yes. The Homebase is available to the public most of the time. However it is important to note that maintenance inspections are performed on all NSCEE equipment between 5:00am and 8:00am PDT each Thursday. Some NSCEE resources may be unavailable during this time.

Yes. The Tooling Work Group has produced a documentation called GForge for Dummies. You can download a copy from this Link.
Your Homebase account only allows you to log on to the Homebase site. In order to make your source code/code base available in the HL7 SVN repository, you will need to commit it using your SVN account.
Your SVN account is usually created when you request a project in the Homebase. You will receive your SVN account information from the HL7 Tooling Administrator.
You can access the HL7 SVN repository using Eclipse or Rational Software Modeler. You can also access the SVN via other Subversion Clients (e.g. TortoiseSVN or Subclipse).
There is no expiration date for your SVN account.
No. The Homebase is configured to disallow anonymous postings. You must be a registered user before you can submit postings.
Yes. With the exception of Work Group projects, all projects registered in the Homebase are configured to use the generic listserv: homebase@lists.hl7.org for tracking purposes. Users subscribed to this listserv would be able to receive all updates and submissions of Bugs, Support Requests and/or Feature Requests. Work Group projects are configured to use their assigned/default listservs.
